STUD...'nuff said!

Pickin' up....

the ladies (Mama and G.ma)!

STUD MUFFIN!

This past Sunday, G.pa and G.ma T. came to hang out. We spent most of the afternoon playing in the pool, running through the new sprinkler they gave him and "mowing the lawn". Nolan LOVES water! The first day we filled up his pool, he didn't care how cold the water was, he wanted to play in it! Every time we water the trees with the nozzle sprayer, the kid ALWAYS ends up drenched because he runs through the spray. CRAZY! G.pa and G.ma found him a blow up ball sprinkler; it's pretty cool and he LOVES it. Sunday wasn't particularly hot outside, but that didn't stop him. The Blue's Clues hat and water shoes are courtesy of Papa and Gran and they are definitely his favorite!?! Thanks Papa and Gran!

4 Generation Picture

Finally, we were able to get a 4 generation photo and I almost forgot to share it! We took several pics, but I think this is the best one that I have! ENJOY!
!

Easter Shindig!

Whoa, it's been a long time. Not a lot going on around here...just chaotic schedules and playing! Although we enjoyed the grandmas coming to Lincoln to play with Nolly while I worked and Tanner was in GI for the past 1 1/2 weeks, we are happy to have him home again for good...for awhile!

This past weekend, we celebrated Easter at Papa and Gran's house with a lot of extended family. It was so good to see everyone; it seems our time together is so short and the times we get together so few anymore :( Here are a few pics from the day!

Cousins celebrating a few April birthdays! Happy Birthday kiddos!

Easter egg hunt! Good times!

Picking out the Easter eggs from the basket...it's easier that way, right? Smart kiddo!

The girls (Savannah and Lainy) had a blast with the basket full of eggs. They were screaming and mixing the eggs around in the basket. They totally get each other riled up! Too cute! No pics of that though...must have been caught up in the moment!

How cute is Lainy Paige...always picture perfect, just like her mama!

Here's that picture perfect mama with Libby Mae!

VERDICT IS IN....

Thankfully our trip to the doctor's office was not warranted, but just to make me feel better, we did it anyway on Wednesday. She did a rapid strep test since his throat looked red, which came back negative. She said if the high temps and loss of appetite were to last 5-7 days, think influenza. However, by Thursday, Nolan had fully recovered! No more high fevers (103.5) and no more APAP or IBU (not that these bothered him; he slurped them up)! She said if it lasted only a few days, then it was some viral thing she has been seeing going around with really high temps and loss of appetite. Sounds like that is what he had. Now he has a mysterious rash on his belly and back??? Hopefully it was just the dogs since we played with them today. We'll see how he's doing tomorrow!

UPDATE: Rash is dun gone for now! But what a sleeper he has been. 4-5 hours worth of naps during the day and sleeping from 7:30pm-8:30am when mama wakes him! Should I do that??? Not real sure what is going on with him....he has never been a good napper!

SICK...AGAIN!

Good news: Monster man loves to dance (especially to "ring around the rosy...thank you Savannah!) And you would never know he is sick other than a lack of appetite.

Bad news: Little monster is sick...again! He has had a fever since Sunday night. I guess tomorrow morning we will be making a little trip to the d.o.c.t.o.r. We have already done two rounds of antibiotics in the last month; now what? Please pray for healing in his little body!

Side note: do you know the origin to "ring around the rosy"? This website
http://www.snopes.com/language/literary/rosie.asp explains a possible connection that is false. "Ring around the rosy": a ring surrounding a little rosy bump was one of the first visible signs of infection ...an infection known as the Black Plague. "Pocket full of Posy": this referred to the belief that people thought they could protect themselves from "bad air" by keeping the "local air" sweet smelling with posies b/c they believed the Plague was borne on "foul air" and it helped to deal with the smell of death. "Ashes, ashes" referred to an imitation of sneezing in the end stages when there was internal bleeding to the point of death. Also they cremated the dead. Pretty gloomy, huh?

Maybe we should find another song?
Nah, he knows this one and we can make up another
story.

BLESSED!

I am blessed.
I am blessed and loved by a Savior that loves me even though I fail Him.
I am blessed with a family I did nothing to deserve and they love me and I love them beyond the ends of the earth.
I am blessed!
That's all; just blessed.....but that's enough.

Whoa...it's been a long time

So it has been a whirlwind of a month and I have failed miserably with blogging; I guess life happened!
Here are a few pics of what the little guy has been up to. He is so busy. He surprisingly enjoys baking with me; perhaps it is just the AWESOME mixer. (I'll be honest, that is probably the only reason I bake anything.) He has a mixing bowl and wooden spoon and spatula that I let him play with. He likes to mix his toys in the bowl and he now makes the noise that I make when I am "testing" some of his creations. His favorite activity is probably reading; however when given the chance to go outside, he will bring you his shoes and sit "patiently" (mmmm, not so much!) Let's see....for fun we have "caught" him: tearing up tissues into tiny pieces and then picking them back up; while we were sleeping, he managed to grab the wipes container off the dresser and pulled them all out and apart; hiding in his closet! I'm sure there are more, but my tired brain isn't working right now. He loves to look at pics of anyone, but he is particularly captivated by pics of cousins Savannah and Lainy. He will go between their two pics and giggle when you say their names. I have to say, he is certainly at one of the funnest ages right now, however, this has been said before! Enjoy the pics!

Man of the house...for the weekend at least!

Daddy, of course, is irreplaceable, but I still have a little man around to do repairs and help with chores when daddy is away. Nolly loves anything that can spin, go round, etc...including wheels. You might find him doing a little repair work on one of his buggies as he was last night. He refused to keep it upright. He wanted to spin the wheels using his middle finger as always. A list of things that can be spun that I didn't know could be spun includes, but is not limited to: any book, "Captain Papa", "Buddy Ben", spoons, sippy cups, boxes, fridge garage, oh how I could go on.

And, how could I forget Nolly likes to try and spin little cousin Camden too (see the video). This video brings a smile to Tanner's face b/c if you watch it all the way through you'll notice someone falling at the end (me) b/c my toe was caught on a string. Turn the sound on and you may enjoy the sound effects. Not so funny...it hurt! Regardless of the embarrassment I may endure from this video, it does a great job of showing the cousins playing.

Despite the torment that I suffer due to this video, we still miss daddy and can't wait for him to get home today!

Is it possible...Nolan is 1 today?

We can't figure out where this year went. It doesn't seem possible that our baby is no longer a baby, but a toddler! And, he is definitely "toddling"...he "toddles" with his fridge garage, his boombox, his sippy (sometimes 2 sippy cups), and yes, even at the young age of 1, he can walk and read a book at the same time. It is only a matter of time before he can walk, rub his belly clockwise, rub his head counter-clockwise and chew gum at the same time (hmmmm, can I do that?) Ha!

We had his big "1" birthday party on Sunday with family and friends. When it came time for cake, he wasn't all that interested in eating it, but enjoyed smearing it on his belly. Here are some pics from the big day.

Before.....

A little on the tummy never hurt anyone...

After.....
Happy Birthday little man! Dada and Mama love you!
